Belonged to the family of non - musician

I was born in the family of academicians. Although they would appreciate Art, but no one of them actually took Art as a career. Me too as well, never wanted to opt neither humanities as my stream nor wanted to go ahead for taking up music as a subject of majoring. I could say that I am the only one who did her graduation in Music whereas each one of my family members is either a lawyer, engineer, banker or something like that. Honestly, I was studious and had a thought of either becoming an IAS Officer [ I still want to fulfill my ambition of it ;)] or scientist or a sound engineer, Point to be noted that I never topped in my class! Because of this reason that, I never cared about getting good marks but what I actually cared of, is to gaining knowledge. I often skipped my games period just to experiment scientifically, and I used to wandering by thinking about whatever does happen within nature, that how exactly it does?
All these experimenting made my relationship with Science and mathematics and I blended my prerequisite knowledge of science and math to music. Had my parents wouldn't recognize that I would achieve something in Music , I actually would have been living different life from what I am living today. They are the ones who constantly pushed me up for taking music as no one in my family ever did that. Although my father learned music for a while and he was the first one who introduced me to music and harmonium ( a musical instrument similar to accordion).
When I started my undergraduation in Music, people would asked this question to me that:
What do you do in music, there's nothing to study as you have to only sing it, right?
Why do you even have a library?
Do you want to establish yourself in Mumbai ?
My answers to these questions:
We study the history of Indian and music of other countries including different musical art forms. We study the psychology of music, the scientific use of music. Overall, we study like any other person and do apply it practically as well!
• To gain knowledge in a particular subject, one needs books and this is why libraries does exist. Duh!
• I don't want to go to Mumbai or want to do playback singing.  There are several open ideas for music. Also, music is my passion and it wouldn't be strange if I would divert my career to anything else rather than singing only, because you can never set your limits to certainty.
There were, and are, many baseless questions and believe me if you take any unconventional course you might face these things the same like me.
You can do whatever you want , and if there is anyone in your family who had remained in that particular career, it's awesome! But if you don't have any of the known ones who can help you out to make out your career, still you can achieve  your dreams!
